Default What is your go on refurbished equipment?

If one were to equip a new data center and cut costs,

1. Refurbished UPS's with new batteries

2. Refurbished server lifts

3. Serviced relatively new servers.

1. Refurbished UPS's with new batteries - Make sure the capacitors are replaced, as well.

2. Refurbished server lifts - Make sure the refurb units retain UL certification. Industrial lifts (called stackers or lifts trucks) may be worth considering vs. new or refurb purpose built electric units.

3. Serviced relatively new servers - Hardware, software and device driver support are the issues here, of course.
