Default Recommend firewall

Hi,

We're a small web host currently operating via a reseller account. However we're starting to outgrow that model and have decided to purchase our own servers for colocation.

Can anyone recommend a decent firewall for this.

Thanks

Hello,

The firewall will depend on several different factors. Please feel free to email me if you would like to talk further about a recommendation.

I would recommend you firewall of Cisco and IBM. Both are a good service provider.

I would second the Cisco ASA firewall line or a Juniper, however on a budget, would not recommend PFsense firewalls. There have been too many problems where we have replaced them in customer setups for either a Cisco, Juniper, or a Mikrotik RouterOS based device. Mikrotik routerboard systems are fairly inexpensive, and you can get a good performing device for a relatively low price. They are Linux based, and have been rock-solid for years.
