Default Routing Design

When we do routing design, we should consider many things. Here is my list.
Optimality
Simplicity
Robustness
stability
Flexibility

What other things I should go for?.

To some extent my dos atacks one coems into robustness because you have to mesh your network and have multiple backbones to effictevely prevent them. I say it is very important not have super fast backbones(like a bunch of 1gb backboens for example) but to spread out your bandwidth, over serveral 100mbit connections for example.
