Post Bandwidth and server monitoring

Does anyone know of programs to monitor bandwidth and server (software problem or hardware failure) and notify you by email or sms looking to offer these to my customers.

We use Observium, it has a great set of features and is pretty rock solid once you get it going,

Adding servers provides you with some amazing graphing and reporting functions as well..

Solar Wind's Orion can monitor almost everything and send email alerts, as well as store historical data. You can monitor specific interfaces on your routers and see what % utilization they are at, or get a Mbps number as well.
If you are looking more for, is customer A using more bandwidth than customer B, you can try Cacti. I believe Cacti is free. We use it to bill our customers with by how much bandwidth they use.

Below is a Cacti chart for one of our customers. You can see that they use multiple IPs and multiple ports on our routing equipment.

That is just one of several graphs that Cacti can make.

Hope this helps,
OBXandos

Observium is a good one, but we are using a dedicated data center management suite that does monitoring and billing all together.

Default RE: Network monitor

There is a nice piece of software called PRTG Network Monitor, it may be a little expensive but does the job right it seems. There are also a wide range of monitor software you could find on the software market.
