I agree with you Slaine, it does sound like a good option for monitoring systems. I think probably live stats like power consumption per rack, total power, temperature, fan speeds, server loads,etc....

I've been using a wireless G netgear router for my home for the past 5 years. its got excellent range and quite a few filtering options and an inbuilt firewall. never had a problem till date.
