How do we review datacenter?
 

I am running own datacenter on our office and would like to have our backup in remote datacenter. How do we find the right datacenter? What are the main factors need to be checked?

You should first see if you can find a data center near you that uses or peers with whom ever is providing your bandwidth for your own data center. Try to have matching bandwidth providers.

You should the see what backup solutions they offer. There is everything from rsync to complete enterprise solutions for backing up open database and mail servers to multiple TB of storage and bare metal recovery systems.

Once you have gotten the above information you should visit the data center to see if it's everything they say it is.

Finally you should ask them for a real time demo of backing up and fully restoring your files.

The biggest question is what is your budget? With data centers you get what you pay for. What features are critical to you? The 2 most important things to look at for starters is power and network.
